Evaluation and Research in Educational Technology
Alter the Lens Paper Technology in Society Power Point
The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance - it is the illusion of knowledge.
Daniel. J. Boorstin
Evaluation of technology in education and training shall not be lost in the great technological shuffle of our present age. Ongoing and ever-evolving criticism must be at the forefront of the processes occurring in classrooms and during training sessions. Instructional designers of the future need to evaluate and to test solutions for upcoming problems. In order to build upon where the reactions stem from, where learning occurs, how behaviors are changed and what kind of results are happening, teachers and trainers must heed Kirkpatrick's model as well as create original models while on-the-job.

There are no passengers on spaceship earth. We are all crew.
Marshall McLuhan
Seels and Glasgow's (334) concept of rapid prototyping, the quick construction of a design approach in order to evaluate its effectiveness before full-scale development allows trainers to practice or to rehearse before the actual production. The design and development of part of a product or of a lesson are often done concurrently. I add "lesson" to this glossary definition because it allows the element of business to become an element of education; allowing blueprints to be flexible and to allow change.
