Three items on this page incorporate technology into classroom settings via a product made by streaming video and using the medium of a moviemaker application. The streaming video quest began with an idea for what could be a focus for the internship and the following blueprints for implementing curriculum with technology began to take shape. Because the work is ongoing and needs continual editing for classroom purposes, the internship laid the groundwork for future endeavors, specifically, with the National Writing Project July 2006. How did these artifacts reflect constructivism? Discovery was made that teaching and learning through newer applications of curriculum evolve into a richer learning environment that provokes dialogue and blueprints for projects completed by students themselves. Internship
I seek this streaming video internship because of my speech and theater background and my comfort with presentation, but also because it will allow me to share the know how with other teachers, staff and students. It will take planning, organizing and experimenting with the technology but providing a framework for others to follow. A true leader establishes ground rules and procedures but allows for further exploration and implementation strategies. Initiative with new technology offers new ways to present data. Flexibility is a key issue with adaptation to how to connect equipment to information to presentation. Collaboration with experts from the technology department at Lake Area Institute in Watertown for the time and for the building blocks we covered during intial “how to” sessions was vital for project start-up. I work with highly credible teachers at Watertown High School who are able to answer my tech questions and who offer emotional support plus peer review.
